IVARS SILĀRS

Ivars Silārs (1938), the author of the text of the guide “A Walk through Aizpute 100 Years Ago and Today”, was born, raised, studied and also started his first career in Aizpute. Although he has spent most of his life in Riga, he still calls himself an Aizpute local living in Riga. As a proof of his belonging to the lovely, picturesque small town of Kurzeme on the banks of the Tebra, is this virtual guide dedicated to the hometown of Ivars Silārs to the past of Aizpute.
