FROM KINDLING OR SPLINTERS TO CANDLES

During the workshop, by reading riddles, playing games and solving crossword puzzles, it is possible to learn how our ancestors lit their homes when there was no electric lighting. By candlelight, the long autumn and winter evenings became brighter, but not every household could afford to burn them, so the kindling or splinters were also lit. Candles at that time were a sign of the material well-being and wealth of the owners. Find out which month of the calendar year and why it was called the month of candles and learn how candles can be made at home.
