EXPOSITION "REPRESSIONS OF THE SOVIET REGIME IN 1941 AND 1949"

June 14, 1941 and March 25, 1949 are in the calendar of the history of the Latvian people as dates of mourning. During these days, mass deportations of the Latvian population took place. People in Aizpute, as in many other places in Latvia, were waking up for a new day, without even realizing that for many these were the last days in their homes, and that a long, tormenting and unclear journey to Russia's Far East will begin, many of them did not return. The exposition is dedicated to the memory of the repressed inhabitants of Aizpute District and was created in cooperation with the repressed deportees and their relatives.
